What Is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding (sometimes referred to as “teeth bonding” or “composite bonding”) is a type of cosmetic dentistry procedure that involves using composite resin to treat teeth that are:

• Chipped
• Cracked
• Discolored
• Gapped
• Misshapen

During your dental bonding procedure, we’ll roughen the surface of the tooth in question and apply a conditioning liquid. Next, we’ll place a matching composite resin over the tooth, mold it to the desired shape, and smooth it. Finally, we’ll cure (harden) the resin using a special light, then polish the tooth. Unlike dental veneers, dental bonding can be reversed if needed.
