Premium Veneers for Dental Patients in Savannah, GA

Are you looking for a solution to broken, chipped, cracked, discolored, gapped, misshapen, or stained teeth? You may want to consider dental veneers, a treatment offered at Poston Dental in Savannah, Georgia. Previously voted the Best Dentist in Savannah, we’re pleased to offer veneers and various other cosmetic dentistry services to residents of Chatham County and other areas in the Coastal Empire region.

How Do Veneers Work?

A veneer is a thin covering—often made from porcelain or composite resin—that’s custom-made to fit over the front of a damaged tooth. If you opt for porcelain veneers, we’ll remove a small amount of enamel from the teeth in question, take an impression of the teeth, and send that impression to a lab. We may place temporary veneers over the teeth until the lab finishes the permanent ones. Then, once the permanent veneers are ready, we’ll install them using dental cement. The procedure for composite veneers is similar but typically doesn’t require impressions.

Veneer maintenance is relatively simple—while you should follow any specific instructions provided by your dentist, you’ll likely need to brush your veneers twice daily (using a soft-bristled toothbrush and a nonabrasive toothpaste), floss once daily, use an antibacterial mouthwash, and regularly attend professional cleanings. You should also stay away from dark-colored foods and beverages and avoid biting directly into tough meats and hard, crunchy foods. With proper care, veneers often last approximately 10 to 15 years, after which time they may need to be replaced.
